See All ReviewsWow! Great food at a good price. Great atmosphere. Usually the place nearest the beach is the most expensive and mediocre. But the fish was just $14. Really good and flakey. Coconut jumbo shrimp delicious. And the fries were fantastic. Nice presentation to boot!! So yummy. Highly recommended. Will come again!!!
Haven't been here since the "COVID era". Ordered the tri tip nachos. They were good, but barely any tri tip. Place was clean and staff was nice. Would still come back, just wouldn't order those nachos again.
The Custom House – Avila Beach Stopped by The Custom House during the Fourth of July rush. The place was clean and the staff was attentive maybe to attentive, but the food overall missed the mark for me. My Ratings: • Clam Chowder: 1.5/5 • Chicken Breast Sandwich: 2/5 • Tater Tots: 5/5 • Onion Rings: 5/5 • French Fries: 1/5 The chicken in my sandwich was cooked perfectly—tender and juicy—but it had almost no seasoning, so the whole thing tasted bland and like it needed something extra. The clam chowder was also disappointing and not as creamy as I prefer. My sister had a breakfast burrito and said it was decent but also a bit bland. For $27 (one sandwich, fries, and a cup of clam chowder), it felt pricey for the quality. If you don’t want to lose your parking spot, it’s a convenient option—but be ready to add salt, ketchup, or plenty of ranch. Overall: 2.9/5 Based on my experience, I probably wouldn’t return.
